Baofeng UV-5RH Pro GPS Walkie Talkie 3 Pack – 10W Long Range Radios
3x Baofeng UV-5RH PRO GPS: 10W Long Range Smart Radio
Whether you're scaling cliffs, biking through trails, or skiing in the backcountry, the Baofeng UV-5RH Pro GPS walkie talkie ensures reliable communication during your toughest outdoor adventures. This mountain radio is built for radio enthusiasts and outdoor explorers who demand performance in harsh environments, from hilly terrain to urban zones with obstructed line of sight. Its powerful 10W output cuts through interference, providing maximum range in ideal conditions.
Compact and lightweight, this walkie talkie is perfect for everyday use or more rugged scenarios like family camping trips, range testing, or backcountry expeditions. The water-resistant design (note: not fully waterproof) holds up in light rain and splashes, making it ideal when weather shifts suddenly. It offers excellent battery life, supported by USB Type-C charging, a major convenience over radios that rely on proprietary cradles.
With 640 programmable channels, including support for GMRS and FRS frequencies (when programmed), the UV-5RH Pro GPS simplifies group coordination. Unlike standard models, this unit supports NOAA weather alerts, providing real-time updates during rapidly changing conditions.

10W Higher Power for Open Areas & Challenging Conditions
The UV-5RH Pro offers selectable output up to 10W, giving appropriately licensed users greater operating flexibility than lower-power handheld radios.
Actual communication range varies significantly according to terrain, frequency, antenna, buildings and line of sight. An open field, elevated location or other open areas will generally provide better range than dense woodland, urban streets or indoor environments.
Rather than relying on a fixed maximum-distance claim, choose the right product according to where and how you intend to communicate. For more guidance on outdoor use, explore our outdoor walkie talkies and multi-packs.
GPS Position Sharing for Hiking & Outdoor Teamwork
Built-in GPS and Beidou positioning add useful location functionality for outdoor adventures and group coordination. Compatible radios can share or request location information, helping team members maintain awareness while hiking, camping and taking part in other outdoor activities.
This can be especially useful when a group becomes spread over a wider area or when cellular coverage is poor or unavailable.
For other GPS, multi-band and programmable options, compare the wider Baofeng UV-5R Series.
640 Channels for Flexible Team Communication
Each UV-5RH Pro provides storage for up to 640 channels, allowing experienced users to organise frequencies and settings for different activities and communication requirements.
Multiple programmed channels can make team organisation easier and provide greater flexibility when a frequency is busy or affected by other users. All transmission frequencies and settings must still be used within the permissions of the operator's applicable UK licence.
Hands-Free Communication with VOX
Built-in VOX supports hands-free communication, allowing the radio to activate transmission using your voice when correctly configured.
This can be useful during hiking, outdoor activities and work where keeping both hands available is important. Compatible earpieces and speaker microphones can also be added separately for more convenient communication.
Rechargeable 2500mAh Batteries & USB-C Convenience
Every radio in this walkie talkie 3 pack includes a rechargeable 2500mAh Li-ion battery.
The UV-5RH Pro supports convenient Type-C charging, making it easier to recharge your radios during regular use and outdoor adventures.
Battery life is approximately 15 hours under the stated 5-5-90 duty cycle. Actual runtime depends on transmit power, transmission frequency, GPS use, screen use and other settings.

Baofeng UV-5RH Pro Walkie Talkie 3 Pack — Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is the Baofeng UV-5RH Pro walkie talkie 3 pack licence-free in the UK?
No. The Baofeng UV-5RH Pro is a higher-power programmable amateur radio transceiver and is not a licence-free PMR446 walkie talkie. In the UK, an appropriate radio licence is required to transmit on frequencies for which the equipment is intended. The UV-5RH Pro has selectable output up to 10W and a detachable antenna, so it does not meet the technical requirements for licence-exempt PMR446 equipment.
If you are new to amateur radio, read our UK Ham Radio Licence Guide for information about Foundation, Intermediate and Full licences.
If your aim is simple communication without obtaining an amateur radio licence, browse our licence-free PMR446 radios instead.
2. What range can the Baofeng UV-5RH Pro 3 pack achieve?
There is no single guaranteed range because performance depends heavily on terrain, frequency, antenna position, buildings and line of sight. The UV-5RH Pro provides selectable output up to 10W. In an open field, elevated position or other clear line-of-sight environment, communication can extend substantially farther than in urban areas, forests or buildings.
Obstacles such as hills, concrete structures and dense vegetation can significantly reduce usable range. Higher power can improve communication in some conditions, but it cannot eliminate the effects of terrain and physical obstructions.
For more practical outdoor advice, see our range of walkie talkies for outdoor use.
3. Do all three Baofeng UV-5RH Pro radios work together?
Yes. All three UV-5RH Pro radios can communicate with one another when they are programmed to compatible frequencies, channels and signalling settings that you are legally authorised to use. Because all three radios are the same model, they share the same interface, 640-channel capacity and programming options, making them suitable for consistent team setups.
The UV-5RH Pro also supports wireless frequency copying, which can help match compatible settings between radios. For PC setup and channel management, visit the Baofeng software download centre.
4. How long does the Baofeng UV-5RH Pro battery last?
Each radio includes a rechargeable 2500mAh Li-ion battery. The stated battery life is approximately 15 hours using a 5% transmit, 5% receive and 90% standby duty cycle.
Actual battery life varies depending on transmit power, how frequently you talk, GPS use, screen settings and other functions. Frequent transmission at higher power will normally use more energy than occasional communication. USB Type-C charging adds convenience for radio users travelling, camping, hiking or taking part in other outdoor adventures.
5. Does the Baofeng UV-5RH Pro support hands-free communication?
Yes. The UV-5RH Pro includes VOX functionality for hands-free communication. When VOX is enabled and correctly adjusted, your voice can activate transmission without requiring you to press the push-to-talk button every time.
This can be useful during hiking, outdoor activities or work where users need their hands available. Earpieces and speaker microphones are not listed among the standard accessories in this particular three-radio package, so compatible accessories should be purchased separately where required.
6. Is the Baofeng UV-5RH Pro 3 pack suitable for hiking and camping?
For appropriately licensed operators, the UV-5RH Pro combines several useful features for hiking, camping and other outdoor activities, including GPS and Beidou positioning, selectable output up to 10W, 640 programmable channels, rechargeable 2500mAh batteries, USB Type-C charging and VOX hands-free communication.
Its rugged, weather-resistant design can also be useful for outdoor adventures, although this GPS model should not be described as fully waterproof. Terrain and line of sight remain critical. Valleys, hills, woodland and buildings can reduce range even when a higher-power radio is used.
Browse our dedicated outdoor walkie talkie collection if you want to compare this model with other radios designed for outdoor use.
7. Does the UV-5RH Pro receive Airband frequencies?
Yes, the UV-5RH Pro features a dedicated Airband Receive mode (108-136MHz AM). This allows aviation enthusiasts to listen to communication between pilots and air traffic control, a feature not available on the classic UV-5R.
8. What is the difference between Baofeng UV-5R and UV-5RH Pro?
The UV-5RH Pro is a significant upgrade over the classic UV-5R. Key differences include 10W Power (vs 5W/8W), a 2500mAh Battery with USB-C charging, a larger 1.77" Colour Screen, 640 Memory Channels, and specialised features like integrated GPS, Airband reception and Wireless Frequency Copy. Compare the full Baofeng UV-5R Series to find the right model for your needs.
Need a Licence-Free Alternative?
The UV-5RH Pro is designed for licensed radio use. If you need walkie talkies for family camping, events, workplace communication or other activities where an amateur radio licence is not suitable, choose compliant PMR446 equipment instead.
View our licence-free walkie talkies for UK users to compare suitable PMR446 models.
UK LEGAL NOTICE: LICENCE REQUIRED
IMPORTANT: This is a powerful amateur radio transceiver. To transmit, you require a valid UK Amateur Radio (Ham) Licence or Business Radio Licence. Transmission on PMR446 (Licence-Free) frequencies is not permitted with this device. Reception (listening) is permitted without a licence.
